Woods, Lakes and Volcanoes
The south of Chile, once a mapuche territory, was conquerred by the Spanish in 1541 and forced the mapuches into reserves. Today the area offers big national parks that preserve the araucaria and native woods of three thousand years.
The Lake District, the active volcanoes and the colonizing German presence form this place to one of the most beautiful regions of Chile.
