The
start point of this both attractive and interesting horse
riding is the Altos del Lircay National
Reserve or Alto Vilches, located in the Maule Region,
Talca Province (VII Region), San Clemente Commune.
The
zone is characterized by the presence of native woods, where
we can find: lengas, raulíes, cypresses, radales,
coigües, hazelnuts trees, peumos, oaks and the hardworking
woodpeckers. We will cross the Claro River, the Venado Valley,
volcanic zone, Blanquillo Lagoon, we will rest in hot springs
and we will explore the Big Descabezado Volcano sector.

condition and disposition to make efforts on the field.
1st
day 8:30 a.m. Santiago - Altos del Lircay National Reserve
Pick
up and transfer of passengers form the Hotel in Santiago
to Altos del Lircay National Reserve, Talca, VII Region.
Once
we were in the park we will load our horses and mules and
we will start our ride, where we will be surprised by the
native woods and the deep Venado Valley viewpoint. First
night camp in the Claro River banks.
Riding Time: 4 hours and 30 minutes.
2nd day Blanquillo Lagoon
On
this second day we will go to volcanic zone, we will cross
the Blanquillo Lagoon, which is formed by "Pome"
stone remains that gives it a white color.
After
4 hours we will reach our second camp, with the impressive
view of the Big Descabezado Volcano. Besides, we will enjoy
of a nice thermal bath. Accommodation in tents.
Riding Time: 4 hours
3rd
day Big Descabezado Volcano
Trekking
to the Descabezado Volcano. Optional ascent to its summit
(3.953 masl.) which can be made by an early start (5:30
AM). For those who want to try it, this is a hard work day
in the hill (10 hours total). Accommodation in tends.
Riding Time: 4 to 5 hours
4th
day Trekking
Return
to the Park area. This is a long trip of 8 hours. We will
lunch during the trip to keep on going. Accommodation in
tend in camping area, with shower, hot water, toilet, tables,
seats and electricity.
5th day Piedra de Amparo and Mirador Antumahuida / Return
to Santiago
Free
morning after breakfast where we can discover marvelous
paths that leads us through the woods: Piedra de Amparo
and Mirador Antumahuida.
Depart from the Park and lunch in Bajo Vilches sector. Return
to Santiago.
