Exploring Glaciers: La Paloma Glacier
(3 days/ 2 nights)

The La Paloma Glacier is located in the "Yerba Loca Natural Sanctuary", which is a protected area of more than 39.000 ha. This sanctuary possesses a special cultural relevance, because its valley and the surrounding mountains give evidence of human presence of several millenniums.
It has been found archeological objects and places of pre Hispanic cultures such as: Chiquillanes, Picunches and Incas.

We will walk to the end of the valley watching the Andes until we reach the beautiful La Paloma Glacier, an amazing ice formation of 3.500 meters of altitude.

Departures : October to April
Level : It requires good physical condition and disposition to make efforts on the field.

1st day Santiago - Yerba Loca Natural Reserve

8:30AM Pick up and transfer of passengers from the hotel in Santiago to the Yerba Loca Natural Reserve, Curve Nº 15 to Farellones, Metropolitan Region.

We will start our trekking at Paulina Village. By a soft journey we will get the place of our camp.

Trekking Time: 3 hours

2nd day Trekking to La Paloma Glacier

Trekking to La Paloma Glacier reaching "Casa de Piedra Carvajal" and Glacier. Here we will rest and admire the scenery.

Round Trekking Time: 5 hours

3rd day Return to Santiago

Rest and return to Santiago.
Arrival at 6:00 p.m.

Included:

Transfer from Santiago
Entrance Ticket to the Reserve
Every meal: dinner, breakfast, box lunch (fruits, peanuts, raisins, etc.)
Guides, cook and full kitchen equipment.
Accommodation in mountain tends for 2 passengers.
Dining tent with table and seats.
Mules usage for heavier equipment. Each passenger must carry a little bag with all the necessary equipment for one day: water, wind top, polar, sunglasses, gloves, cap, solar filters, and camera.
